Deutsche Bank has selected OpTier's CoreFirst business transaction management software to keep track of the performance of more than 20 applications in its retail banking and trading divisions worldwide.

The announcement, which is expected to be made today, follows Morgan Stanley's confirmation that it is using CoreFirst to monitor the performance of one of its institutional fixed-income platforms.

The transactional approach combined with the comprehensive view of the IT infrastructure that CoreFirst provides, according to Israel Mazin, Chairman and CEO of OpTier, allows organizations to proactively optimize IT in order to minimize the costs associated with downtime.

CoreFirst's "active context tracking" is embedded in applications and/or middleware and identifies the end-to-end flow of every transaction.
