Data feed-handling systems provider Wombat has formed a strategic alliance with U.K.-based Gissing Software that will allow ultra-low-latency market data to be delivered to desktops via Microsoft Excel.
Wombat, which was acquired by NYSE Euronext earlier this year and folded into its recently created Advanced Trading Solutions unit, is pairing its Wombat Market Data Platform with Gissing Software's RealtimeXL Excel add-in, which displays market data in spreadsheets. The new system, Wombat RealtimeXL, will allow subscribers to receive real-time price updates in Excel, use market data manipulation and administrative tools, and apply Wombat's order book and connection level conflation capabilities.
