Extending the reach of FIX 5.0--and perhaps enticing users of legacy versions to upgrade--FIX Protocol Ltd. (FPL) has released the first service pack for the iteration that debuted in January 2007.
FIX 5.0 service pack 1, which can be downloaded free of charge from FPL's Web site, includes 25 extension packs, developed based on user feedback and changing industry requirements. Service packs are usually a collection of fixes and enhancements to software available in a single installation--FPL has not offered them for past versions of FIX.
