Seeking to accelerate options trading growth in Canada, the Montreal Exchange (MX) and the Chicago-based Options Industry Council (OIC) last week said they will offer a series of educational events and presentations in major Canadian cities, introducing leading equity options experts to interested investors.
Luc Bertrand, president and chief executive of MX, which is in the process of merging with Toronto Stock Exchange parent TSX Group, said his exchange has been engaged in Canadian options education and training for years. "OIC has set high standards of investor education in the United States, one of the world's fastest growing and largest equity options markets," he said. "MX experts will leverage OIC knowledge and expertise to accelerate the diffusion of options knowledge in Canada."
