Capital markets expert and former Accenture managing director William Cline has founded Cline Group, a Pawleys Island, S.C.-based consultancy that will focus on capital markets training. In January 2007, Cline started up New York-based consulting firm Acai Solutions with Ron Stein, formerly managing partner of MPI Professionals, which CGI-AMS acquired in 2005. Cline left his position as CEO of Acai in December, though he remains on the board and has a stake in the firm.
Cline's new firm, through a partnership with Boston-based research firm Aite Group, will offer education and training courses. Aite will supply exclusive research to Cline for the firm's core, two-and-a half-day overview course on the financial markets as well as more sophisticated topics. Cline said the classes will include "everything from the basics to the complex," adding, "We will teach not only what is happening, but also why." He anticipates initially running six to eight courses a year.
